MADACC has a wonderful foster program and here is a great story proving that fosters rock! About two and a half weeks ago, a wonderful foster took this mom and her four newborn kittens. The mom cat is not a big fan of people, but the foster was more than willing to give her the time and space she needed to be a mom and learn that people are okay. Mom has slowly started to come around to the foster, but in the meantime, she has proven what a phenomenal mama she is to her babies.
Fast forward to this week, when a single two-week old kitten being brought into the shelter. We reached out to the foster to see if she thought mama would accept the orphan since she was such a good mom. Again, the foster was more than willing to give it a try.
The orphaned kitten has a new mom and four ‘big’ siblings to take care of him. None of this would have happened without a foster home who was willing to be patient and do what it takes.
