Tandem has been providing free meals since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their plan is to continue doing so until it is over. Other restaurants are assisting by bringing meals to assist them. Fein Brothers Restaurant Supply loaned them a bigger refrigerator to hold the over 300 meals per day they are distributing Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 4 PM.
This has really been helpful for me as I usually struggle to have enough food. It reminds me of my Louisiana mother. If you came to her house she would always offer you something to eat. The Tandem does it with a smile on their face and with such compassion and humility just like my mother used to do. They have made this lonely time not seem as lonely. When I sit down to eat my meals, I think about the time, energy and love that went into providing that meal for me. Just like my mama used to do.
There’s only one drawback in all this. I think I’m gaining weight from eating so well. LOL.
