Every year Mary’s family would plan a birthday breakfast, lunch or dinner. This year Mary’s family had planned a surprise 90th birthday party at the Brewer game on April 10th. Her family knew those plans would be canceled so they organized another way to surprise her. Her granddaughter decorated Mary’s lawn with signs that read “Oh no! Mary is the big 9-0!” Mary was surprised in the morning to see the decorations. Little did she know that was just the small surprise. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were planning a bigger surprise. The family met at a local church and decorated their vehicles with signs and balloons. Mary received a phone call from her granddaughter asking if she could take a picture of her with the signs and bring her dessert. Mary put on her shoes and coat and stepped outside. Her granddaughter snapped a few pictures and then a line of cars came honking past her house. She was very surprised and so happy that her family could still celebrate her birthday.
