On Monday April 6th my girlfriend celebrated her 36th birthday. Initially, before the pandemic, we planned to spend a week in Tennessee. I planned to propose to her while in the air on a helicopter tour.
I quickly had to improvise. We had a wonderful dinner on her birthday. I contacted her family members and they joined in the singing of happy birthday via the “House Party” visual conferencing app, which is a service similar to Zoom.
Then I really surprised her: I got down on one knee and proposed. I had her ring custom made. She thought her ring was not going to be completed until the fall of 2020. SHE SAID YES! A very joyous occasion in the midst of, and in spite of COVID-19.
