Subdivision Scavenger Hunt

We live in an older subdivision on the east side of West Bend and many of the people that built these houses are still living in the neighborhood. They are in their 70s, 80s and 90s, making them high risk and unable to go out.

Each week since schools were closed, families have been putting a picture somewhere on the front of our houses. I post a theme on our subdivision Facebook page and we get to coloring or decorating! We did St. Patty’s Day, Hearts, the United States Flag and today we start our Easter theme! When it’s nice out, people take walks and search from the sidewalks to find as many pictures as they can. When the weather stinks or people are uncomfortable walking, they take a little car ride in search of the treasure.

We’ve been taking care of the newer, younger families not realizing the joy our older community is getting as well. The kids love it, the subdivision loves it and, most of all, our elderly love seeing the kids and families having so much fun! It’s all about the lemonade.
