Our colleague, teacher and friend had a birthday and we needed to celebrate with her! This pandemic has been tough on all of us. But for our friend and colleague, Gloria, it’s been extra lonely because her family lives out of town and she lives all alone. Knowing that, her fellow teacher friends decided to lift her up on her birthday! The staff of Grace Evangelical Lutheran School and their families decided to gather together in a nearby parking lot and parade past Gloria’s house honking horns and yelling “Happy Birthday!” Once we arrived at her house, we stopped, got out of our vehicles, stayed at the edge of her lawn, sang Happy Birthday and presented her with gifts of love. Gloria was very surprised and it made us all aware of how much we miss each other! Not only did it bring joy to Gloria and the staff of Grace, but it was fun to see the smiles on the neighbors’ faces as well.
