Knowing that I do upholstery work, a friend who is a nurse approached me to to see if I could make face shields. I gave it a try and it worked. She gave me some seed money so I donated my time and started making them with the help of my family.
I posted on Facebook about what I was doing. Donations started coming in so I started a fundraiser called Shielding Our Angels. To date, almost 350 shields have been donated to the Angels caring for our sick both in and out of state. Hats off to all the healthcare workers on the front lines – we love you. I also love all those that have helped cover the cost of the supplies.
